It is the policy of Lytham St. Annes Festival of Performing Arts to treat all competitors, adjudicators, accompanists, stewards and volunteers fairly and equally, regardless of their sex, sexual orientation, marital status, race, colour, nationality, ethnic or national origin, religion, age, disability or union membership status.

Furthermore the Festival will ensure that no requirement or condition will be imposed without justification which could disadvantage individuals purely on any of the above grounds.

The policy also applies to the recruitment and selection of Trustees.

The Charity will regularly review all selection criteria to ensure that individuals are treated according to their relevant individual abilities and merits.

The overall responsibility for the policy lies with the Trustees.

The speech and drama section comprises two parts; dramatic skills and the spoken word. Most classes are divided into age categories so competitors will be performing with people of a similar age.
